3D Scanning and Reverse Engineering

Written by admin on June 18th, 2009

How do you accurately scan the dimensions of a marine ship for errors while it’s still floating in the water?

For years, accurate inspection of a marine vessel meant hauling it out of the water or sending in divers to inspect its cohesion. Thanks to laser technology, however any ship no matter the size can be scanned and checked while it’s still in the water. In fact, it can be done at a greater degree of accuracy than any other method. The convenience of the 3d scanning makes such inspections more affordable. Laser technology has quickly become a widely used tool in the maritime industry.

Using reverse engineering, lasers can scan any object accurately, even if the object is under water. It’s ideal for monitoring the hulls that involve complex geometric shapes, allowing a precise model for repairs, remodeling, boat building, inspection and simulation purposes. You can even have your engine examined through 3d scanning and create a completely new engine even while you are still at sea.

Maritime equipment requires frequent maintenance and engineering. 3D digital scanning makes the check-ups easy, accurately delivering the data so you know what you’re dealing with. Through state of the art laser equipment, reverse engineering accurately scans your vessel, even in the water. The technology couldn’t be more convenient, delivering you the data you need with compelling accuracy.

Laser technology comes in especially handy when remodeling an old boat. With all the changes that can occur during a boat’s ownership, the manual is far from a definitive guide of the true dimensions of your boat. With laser technology, you know exactly what’s there so you know what you’re dealing with. By knowing the exact specifications of your boat, you’ll be better able to repair it. 3D laser scanning delivers information that’s definitive, eliminating any doubts you may have along the reconstruction process.

With 3d technology, you are no longer limited to size or space considerations. Any boat of any size in any location can be scanned. The equipment is delivered to the boat, not vice versa. Accurate information puts greater control in your hands through exact dimensions you can depend on when reconfiguring or repairing your boat.

Need Some Sales Mentoring

Written by admin on March 10th, 2009

Before I even opened up my business I knew that I could benefit from some comprehensive sales mentoring. I was unaware of many of the latest sales help strategies and marketing outlets that had become popular. I was a professional painter that had always dreamed of owning my own painting company. After years of saving and receiving a small inheritance from my deceased mother, I could finally afford to live out my dream.

I went out and bought all of the equipment that I would need for both commercial and residential painting jobs. Although much of the equipment was second hand my enthusiasm was boundless. I purchased two work vans and had the logo of my new company and the contact information painted onto them. Finally, I hired two painters that I had known for many years to assist me with my work. After all of the required paperwork was filed and my company insurance premium was paid and activated, I was ready to start to paint.

My business was all ready to go; I just needed to find some customers so that I could book my entire summer up with appointments. I decided that I needed some serious sales mentoring and that I needed to enlist the help of some professionals. I found a local advertising company that was willing to help me successfully launch my new company.

The first step that the company took was to advertise in several local magazines that specialized in home services and repair/improvement companies. This would be specifically relevant to the type of work that I was performing. People that are looking for home repair work or painting use these magazines to find local companies.

They also sent out mailers to residents of some of the older subdivisions in my community whose homes could probably use a fresh coat of paint. I thought that it was a great idea to target the customers that could benefit from my services the most. The advertising company also had signs made up that alerted neighbors that my company had completed the paint job on their neighbor’s home so that they could see my superior quality work firsthand.

I was highly impressed by the sales mentoring that I received from the company. They worked hard to identify my potential customers and to target them through their advertising methods. Their professional knowledge and diligence proved to be an indispensible resource in successfully launching my painting business.

Hewlett Packard Power Supply

Written by admin on March 5th, 2009

After several years of using my laptop computer, I noticed that my Hewlett Packard power supply was not providing me with the battery life that it once had. I knew that batteries lost their charging capabilities over time, just as my cell phone battery did. While I could afford to go out and buy a new cell phone every two years, I could not say the same thing about my laptop. I had spent close to one thousand dollars on my laptop and had no intention of replacing it. I needed to look into options for purchasing a replacement Hewlett Packard power supply.

I inspected the cords and the adapter and they seemed to be in great condition so I rationalized that the problem with my Hewlett Packard power supply for my laptop must be my battery. I looked on-line and was pleased to find that I could purchase a new battery for my laptop model for a low price. When my new battery arrived I installed it and charged it right away. I realized that there was once again a significant difference in the life of my battery, only this time it was in my favor. Problem solved!

I was also having some problems with my desktop computer. It seemed as if my Compaq Presario memory was close to being used up because my computer was running sluggish. Finally, a warning pooped up informing me that I had used x amount of memory space and that my computer’s memory was running low. This was another instance where I depended upon my computer on a daily basis and I needed it to function properly but I did not have the money to replace the whole computer or the time to spend transferring over all of my important files. I needed to explore other options.

I scoured the internet once again looking for Compaq Presario memory upgrades. I had assumed that this fix would be more expensive and a lot more technical than replacing my battery. I almost could not believe the prices that popper up for upgraded memory chips. They were completely affordable and they also came with step by step instructions for installing the chip into my exact model. Once the memory chip arrived I installed it immediately. The Compaq Presario memory upgrade was a very simple process and I could tell that my computer was running more efficiently immediately.

If you want to pick the best, this is no joke

Why look like everyone else? Why not stand out on the bowling lane, command attention not only to your game, but right down to the style of ball you choose to roll? Clear bowling balls simply mesmerize, attracting attention for their sheer individual look that’s unlike any other ball on the lane. Imagine a shiny ball as clear as water, imbedded in the center with your favorite design of a rose, a skull or favorite sports team.

By utilizing clear bowling balls, a bowler can say a lot about themselves, their interests, their personalities and styles. Whether you want the toughness of an imbedded skull on the lane, or the creativity of a pig to bring an element of fun to your game, a clear ball gives that special touch.

Many bowlers choose to use clear balls for converting their corner pin squares. As a harder surface ball, a clear ball offers less friction on the lane, which means less ball movement, giving you more control over hitting that particular pin. Plus, the mesmerizing action of the ball brings all eyes on you, perfect as you seek to knock out that last remaining pin. The balls are also ideal for dry oily patterns, giving you the control you need.

Usually, a clear ball contains reactive resin, or perhaps a plastic or polyester body, depending on the brand. They are ideal for spare balls. With limited hooking potential, they are designed to be thrown straight and steady. They are not ideal for use throughout the game, as the lack of core on the ball can have serious affects on its performance. However, their unique appeal is great for pulling out at the right moment of the game, attracting attention and adding an element of fun.

The individual options are endless. Whatever interest or side of your personality you care to portray is possible. It’s a matter of weighing practicality and style. Sometimes you need the performance of the ball. Sometimes the image of the ball is performance enough.

Sometimes you just need to stand out. A clear ball adds an element of personality to your game, an element that will make it memorable.

Using the internet to your advantage

Everybody knows that tough economic times require small businesses to be creative about the ways in which they spend money and acquire new customers. Yet perhaps some of the best savings for small businesses can be almost too easy. By switching from phone company telecommunications solutions to any of the number of business voip providers, who provide calling at a fraction of the price that the phone company charges, small businesses can save roughly 50% on their phone bill – a bill that is usually upwards of $60 per phone per month at small and mid-sized businesses.

When shopping for new phone service, there are a few very important factors to consider, besides price. First, consider whether your business has the resources and know-how to host its own PBX phone system. While hosting a PBX network in house can save money over the very long term, it is far from a core competency for most businesses, and the initial investment in hosting hardware is hard to recoup. Therefore, most businesses will want a hosted VOIP solution. Next, solutions run the continuum from bare bones service and dirt-cheap calling to full-service implementation and support at a much smaller discount from the phone company. Consider your needs. If you’re like most small businesses and do not have a dedicated telecom IT specialist, you should choose a voip business that is known to be a provider of excellent customer service. (Jive is often considered to be the best in this camp.) Last, consider what kinds of phones each company offers. Many of the voip solution companies offer phones that are quite complicated for those who are not tech savvy, or only offer 2 or 3 different phones. Choose a company that offers a number of different phones for different needs. It is crucial that offerings include phones that are compatible with sidecar attachments, conference call phones, and executive phones that have embedded technology that clarifies and richens the otherwise tinny-sounding voice produced by the IP transmission.

Common Types of Welding Equipment and Their Uses

Written by admin on November 21st, 2008

As with any profession, the right equipment can mean a job well done, or not. In the case of welders, the right welding equipment is extremely important. Not only to complete a job, but for safety reasons as well.

One of the first things anyone interested in purchasing welding equipment should know is that there are various welding processes. The type of welding you want to do will dictate the welding equipment need.

Here we’ll take a look at some of the welding equipment needed in gas welding.

Gas Welding: Equipment Needed

Propane Torch: Helps to start fires, heat frozen parts like bolts, and sweat pipes.

Oxyacetylene Torch: This is perhaps the most widely used and valuable piece of welding equipment. It is handy for slicing through everything from sheet metal to a tank turret. It can even do double duty as a flame thrower if you find yourself in a bind.

Oxy-propane Torch: This is a low-cost concession between cheap, portable propane and low cost and oxyacetylene portable propane. If you’re in a pinch when buying gas welding equipment, this can come in handy.

Cutting Nozzles: The function of this piece of welding equipment is to endure smooth gas flow.

Welding and Heating Heads: This piece of welding equipment comes in many different sizes. It allows you to control the output of the flame, eg, how long or short it is and how it’s applied.

Gas Control: In this category are regulators, flow meters and valves. All offer safe, efficient gas control across all applications – everything from light to heavy duty maintenance and repair/production.

Safety Accessories: When purchasing welding equipment, don’t forget your safety accessories. Welding is a dangerous profession and safety equipment can literally save your life.

Welding caps protective shop coats, welding and cutting gloves, gauge guards, tig pens and leather shoe spats are all basic safety welding equipment to start with.

Dietary Supplements

Written by admin on October 8th, 2008

You’ve heard a lot about dietary supplements in recent years. These can replace the vitamins and minerals that you need for proper health if they are not being reached in your diet. But do you need to take them?

Maybe. Eating a healthy, well-balanced diet can provide you with all the nutrients you need for proper health. However, especially in today’s world, few people’s diets cover all of them. You may be deficient in some areas, in which case a dietary supplement would be a good idea. Here are a few that might help:

  •     Calcium gives you strong bones that you need to fight off osteoporosis and other bone-related diseases and problems.
  •     Vitamin D is produced by your body during exposure to the sun, and aids in calcium absorption.
  •     Fish oil contains Omega-3 fatty acids that fights cardiovascular disease.
  •     Folic acid fights heart disease and is found in many green leafy vegetables.
  •     Chondroitin and Glucosamine both help relieve and ward off osteoarthritis pain.
  •     Antioxidants and zinc prevent macular degeneration.
  •     Probiotics keep your body’s digestive system healthy.

When starting to take a supplement, consult your doctor, and don’t overdo it. Also, remember that a healthy diet is still crucial – no supplement replaces a good nutritional diet.

Attorney Legal Forms

Written by admin on October 7th, 2008

There are certain dicey situations in which you may want to get an attorney; legal forms are sometimes costly (including legal fees), and they can be somewhat difficult to wade through. Here are a few examples of when you need to get an attorney involved:

  • You are running a business with employees. Run through your employment agreement with a lawyer and make sure everything is good and legal. You don’t want to be accused of mishandling employees, and you don’t want them to take advantage of you, either.
  • You are going through a divorce or separation. Dealing with settlements of broken marriages can be rather time-consuming and confusing. To make sure you are getting your fair treatment, consult an attorney. It should be done to protect yourself, not be vindictive.
  • You are entering a contract with someone. If this is your first contract with this person, it makes sense to go through the terms of the contract with an attorney. Without doing so, you run the risk of being treated unfairly or losing out on money, or possessions that you deserve ownership of.

These are only a few, but these are some of the more important situations where it makes sense to get an attorney involved. With an attorney legal forms are easier to handle and file, and you know you are doing so properly.
